This 501(c)(3) nonprofit is dedicated to bringing children and animals together with the purpose of providing unconditional love. Noah’s Ark’s animals come from the Department of Natural Resources, zoos, educational institutions, and from the general public, and is a “No-Kill” center.
For those looking to get active, check out Panola Mountain State Park, where zip lines, hikes, biking paths, fishing, and more are all available to enjoy. Located in Stockbridge, Georgia, Panola Mountain State Park is home to a rare, pristine monadnock, providing an oasis near metro Atlanta.
Located in McDonough, Georgia, Southern Bell Farm is a family-owned, 300-acre working farm. It produces fresh produce including berries and peaches, and it grows and sells its own Christmas trees. They also have an on-site country market that sells gifts and goodies, including fresh bakery items.
For those looking for a bit more action in their day, make sure to visit Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia. Home to the Folds of Honor 500, NASCAR’s only Georgia-based event, Atlanta Motor Speedway is home to almost weekly events including drag races, legend series, and NASCAR racing experiences.
Army Aviation Heritage Foundation & Museum
Located in Hampton, Georgia, the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation & Museum is a national, one-of-a-kind non-profit all-volunteer organization composed of Veterans, their families, and civilian supporters. The AAHF is acting to connect the American soldier to the American public as an active, accepted, and admired member of the American family by presenting the story of Army Aviation and the American soldier.
Spectators can climb on board a UH-1H “Huey.” Riders fly with a veteran pilot for six to eight minutes. For an even more intense ride, spectators can ride in an AH-1F Cobra attack helicopter. Certain age, health, and weight restrictions may apply.
